The Burlington School District Parent University is an innovative educational model that promotes learning for parents of BSD students through a holistic multi-generational approach, taking families’ challenges, needs and educational goals into account for maximum impact on student success. The program teaches valuable skills and knowledge that benefit both families and children (e.g., parenting skills, budgeting, First Aid CPR certification) and promotes an inclusive school culture, helping participants to feel welcome and valued in their school community, which is crucial in empowering them to become a partner in their children’s education.
